Downtown Library Parking Garage to Partially Reopen After Fire

A fire in June 2025 tore through the garage, forcing the Main Library itself to close for nearly ten months. The library has since reopened, but all seven levels of adjacent parking have remained shuttered.
Under the new NDOT proposal, the lower levels would reopen first while officials plan a broader redevelopment of the site — welcome news for anyone planning to drive downtown for a library visit or nearby attractions.
