State Weighs Redeveloping 10 Acres of Downtown Parking Lots

The proposal covers Lots 16, 28 and 29 along with the Blue Lot and Gold Lot, parking areas visitors and downtown workers use daily near the Capitol and Bicentennial Mall. Any redevelopment of that scale would reshape parking access and the streetscape in one of the busiest parts of downtown for years to come.
The plan is still in early stages, with questions being raised about how transparently the process has been run — worth watching for anyone planning long-term visits or events downtown.
