A two-hour musical comedy tour aboard the Big Pink Bus, roasting Nashville's music-industry mythology as much as celebrating it. Founded in 1997 by sisters Brenda Kay Jugg and Sheri Lynn, it's less a sightseeing tour than a show that happens to move.
NashTrash started in 1997 as a lark by sisters Brenda Kay Jugg and Sheri Lynn, two Nashville natives with a gift for irreverent, gossip-heavy storytelling and no patience for the polished version of Music City history. Nearly three decades later it's been covered by the Travel Channel, the Today Show, CNN, and the BBC, and Brenda Kay still runs it — Sheri Lynn retired after 28 years, handing the bit off but not the format.
The tour itself is a two-hour ride on the Big Pink Bus past Ryman Auditorium, honky-tonk row, the Country Music Hall of Fame, Music Row, the Gulch, and Station Inn, but the sights are really just cues for the bus. This is improv comedy with a driving soundtrack of local scandal, industry lore, and songs — bawdy, fast, and unapologetically blue. The guides warn upfront that it's a show, not a party bus: no food, no alcohol, and if ribald humor isn't your thing, skip it.
Two versions run: the Brenda Kay Jugg Tour ($50/seat), the rowdier original, and the Jenny Littleton Tour ($45/seat), led by a Nashville singer-actress with a slightly gentler, quirkier bent. Both start and end at the Nashville Farmers' Market, and both sell out — tickets open two months ahead, on the 1st of the month at 2pm CST.
This is a tour for people who've already done the earnest version of Nashville and want the unvarnished one. It's not for kids (under-15s aren't allowed on board at all) or anyone looking for a straight history lesson, but for a bachelorette weekend or a group that wants to laugh harder than they learn, it's one of the few tours in town that actually feels like Nashville's sense of humor rather than its brochure.
