The Cordelle
A restored Victorian home near Broadway with the largest private garden in downtown Nashville, run by an all-female ownership team since 2014. One of the city's most-booked venues for couples who want historic charm without leaving downtown.
The Cordelle occupies one of the last Victorian homes left standing this close to Broadway, opened as a wedding venue in 2014 by co-owners Leigh Watson, Nealy Glenn, and Chandra Watson. Less than a mile from Music City Center, it's a rare case of getting genuine 19th-century architecture — original arched doorways, period woodwork — without asking guests to drive out of downtown.
The property's real differentiator is outdoors: the largest private greenspace in downtown Nashville, a garden built for ceremonies that doesn't feel carved out of a parking lot. Inside, the Great Hall handles seated and standing receptions for up to 250, there's a separate Victorian-era room for a more intimate vibe, and a furnished loft with its own balcony entrance for a bridal suite or lounge. The venue runs an open-vendor policy, so couples bring in their own caterer, florist, and planner rather than choosing from an approved list.
It's built for couples who want a downtown wedding that doesn't look like every other downtown wedding — the garden and the Victorian details set it apart from the exposed-brick warehouse look that dominates Nashville's event space market. Rental runs from roughly $4,888 on a Friday or Sunday to $5,750 on a Saturday for ceremony plus reception, which is worth knowing before booking a tour.
