WeHo is Nashville's art district — a dense cluster of galleries, studios, and creative businesses in a former industrial corridor just south of downtown. The annual Art Crawl draws thousands. Marathon Music Works and Track One recording studios anchor the music side; Fort Houston and Zuzu anchor the creative community side.

Wedgewood-Houston, a few blocks south of downtown, is built almost entirely out of repurposed industrial buildings — old factories and warehouses that got converted into galleries, studios, and small production businesses rather than torn down. That industrial bones-showing aesthetic is the whole point: exposed brick, garage doors, and loading docks now house art openings instead of freight.

The Wedgewood-Houston Art Crawl, running every first Saturday since 2013, is the neighborhood's defining event — roughly a dozen galleries within walking distance of each other (David Lusk Gallery, Zeitgeist, and Prima Signa among them) open their doors free to the public on the same night, and it draws a genuinely mixed crowd of serious collectors and neighborhood regulars rather than feeling like a tourist circuit. Fort Houston, a maker space with wood shop, print shop, bike shop, and photography studio access for members, represents the neighborhood's hands-on creative side rather than just its gallery side.

On the music front, Marathon Music Works — housed in the old Marathon Motor Works auto factory — is one of Nashville's better mid-size concert venues, and the neighborhood has a genuine cluster of recording studios alongside it. WeHo works best for visitors who want Nashville's creative culture without the tourist gloss — it's not a place with a lot to browse on a random Tuesday afternoon, but on Art Crawl Saturdays it's one of the most alive few blocks in the city.
