Edgehill Village·bars

Tucked into the old boiler room of a 1920s steam-cleaning plant in Edgehill Village, Old Glory keeps the exposed brick, coal hopper, and smoke stack intact and builds a candlelit cocktail lounge around them. There's no exterior sign, so look for the golden-lit triangle entrance off Edgehill Avenue rather than a storefront.

The building did real industrial work for most of the twentieth century, and Old Glory didn't sand that history off — the original boiler still sits in the corner, a coal hopper hangs overhead, and the ceilings run sixty feet up to the old smoke stack. A grand staircase curves down from the entrance to the bar floor, which is the kind of entrance most Nashville bars would kill for and this one gets for free from the architecture. It reads more like a restored landmark than a bar that opened intentionally moody.

The cocktail list is short on purpose and spirit-forward across the board — this is a mezcal-and-rye crowd, not a vodka-soda one. The End of Story (mezcal, amaro, chartreuse, celery bitters) is the drink regulars point newcomers toward, and everything on the list gets the same attention to glassware and garnish. It's a small enough menu that you can reasonably try to work through most of it over a few visits.

The mood shifts hard depending on the night: candlelit and conversational early in the week, closer to a dance floor by Friday and Saturday. That range is the point — it works as a quiet first-date bar on a Tuesday and as the last stop of a night out on a weekend, which isn't a combination many Nashville bars pull off.

  • Original 1920s boiler, coal hopper, and smoke stack are still part of the room
  • Quiet, candlelit vibe early week; turns into a weekend dance floor Fri–Sat
  • No exterior signage — enter through the lit triangle doorway off Edgehill Avenue
  • Located inside Edgehill Village, an easy walk from Music Row

Insider tip

Go on a Tuesday or Wednesday if you want to actually sit and talk — by Friday the same room is standing-room-only and closer to a dance floor than a cocktail bar.
